As this was my first conference as Modern Church administrator I really didn't know what to expect.
I had also never been to High Leigh. It was great to discover it was a superb venue with helpful staff, excellent food and comfortable rooms.
For those who have never been to conference, the key thing I would say is I don't think you necessarily have to have a passion about the subject to enjoy the content and discussion. I am by no means soaked in Shakespearean knowledge but I found the insight from a range of speakers of differing backgrounds and career paths interesting and, whilst challenging, still accessible.
The quality of contributions from the speakers and the attendees was second to none. I particularly enjoyed the conversation between Paul Edmondson and Philip Breen. The Poetry Mass was expertly constructed resulting in a beautiful, unique and moving piece of liturgy. Overall a very rewarding few days.
