The trustees of Modern Church are delighted to congratulate our General Secretary, Revd Canon Guy Elsmore, following the announcement today that he is to become the next Archdeacon of Buckingham in the Diocese of Oxford.

Guy, currently the Area Dean of Toxteth and Wavertree and Rector of the St Luke in the City Team in Liverpool, has been General Secretary of Modern Church since July 2013.

After the announcement today Guy said: “Both in ministry in Liverpool and in my work with Modern Church, I have found myself working with others to express a theology that connects with real life and hence to reconnect the church with the 90% who have lost all sense of connection with us. I look forward to bringing that thinking and experience with me as I take up my new role, serving the parishes of Buckingham as archdeacon."

We wish Guy happiness and fulfilment in his new role.
